1. First write what you need to convert (# and unit of measurement) then a multiplication sign (x).

I seem to recall that there were some bad tornadoes in 2011. I don’t think anything much happened as a result, did it? So there’s a tornado in the tornado season. How does this affect the crackpot predictions about 2012? Does the fake Planet X/Nibiru become real after all? Do the laws of physics suddenly change so that a rapid pole shift becomes possible? Does gravity mysteriously change so that a planetary alignment actually takes place and has some influence on the Earth? Do solar flares suddenly become deadly to humans after never having yet had any direct effect on life on Earth? Does a bunch of ranting doomsday lunatics suddenly become deeply knowledgeable about science? The answer to all these questions is: No. Nothing has changed and the ridiculous, unscientific doomsday claims for 2012 remain ridiculous and unscientific. 2012 will still be just an average year and there still isn’t and never will be any scientific evidence to the contrary.
