look for bias, is a source is untrustworthy, it often has something to gain from presenting a positive/negative view point. also look at when the source was made. a scientific one, the more recent the better, a historical one, the nearest to the event being talked about the better.

First check to see what the source was published. I usually look for things that were published in the last four years. Websites are not usually a trustworthy source, but sites ending in: .org, .edu, or .gov are mostly reliable. Also check facts with more than one source.

As for how to evaluate what sources you’re looking at you should ask the following:

1. what is the purpose? (is the source trying to persuade you to adopt their idea/belief)

2. Where does it come from? (see above)

3. Who is the intended audience of the source? (check out vocabulary, writing style)

4. When was it produced? (see above).

5. What do others say about it? (was it recommended by others)

First hand or secondary source – first hand is extra credible * Is the source corroborated via different sources? -> Do different sources say a similar/comparable element on your source (backs it up if extra people have reported a similar element) to substantiate that your source became credible * Is the source bias? – Is it one sided or does it characterize the two element particularly properly? * What became the point or purpose of the source? – became it written to entertain, coach etc.. A source might get replaced with a view to in shape the point meant. E.G – If it became written for entertainment applications then the content of that source would possibly no longer all be actual and would comprise lines of fabrication with a view to “entertain” its objective marketplace. .. dude, i don’t be conscious of if this became precisely what you have been searching for, yet I did my maximum suitable – good success
