Well when you use scientific notation especially on calculators you would write it as like 1.73E3 E representing

and the number following the power

You can either type 3.04 x 10^7

Or you can type 3.04 x 107 and then highlight the 7 and click on format and font and then click the superscript box.

Instead of the x you can use parenthese too.
