How do you solve this equation with fractions?
2. x/4 = 4/8
You have to find the LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR and multiply each side by the LCD. I have no idea. I know the answer is 1/2 but I have no idea how that is the answer.
SHOW ALL WORKING PLEASE.

1. LCD = 6 (so multiply both sides by 6 over 1)
so (6/1) x (a/3) = (6/1) x (1/6) … (that means 6 x a and 1 x 3.. etc.)
… 6a/3 = 6/6 (then you reduce it)
… 2a = 1 (then divide each side by 2)
… a = 1/2
get it??
2. LCD is 4
first reduce the 4/8 to 1/2… then
4 (x/4) = 4(1/2) (multiply)
4x = 2 (divide both sides by 4)
x = 1/2
LCD for #1 is 3. So you divide both sides by 3
LCD for #2 is 4. So you divide both sides by 4
No division sign on my keyboard…so work it on paper.
