The type/font should be 12pt. Double spaced. You will need a cover page, body, reference page. Please note that proper citations are required throughout the paper as well. If your in doubt as to cite or not – cite it. The body of your paper should also have a header in the upper right corner, which is just a short version of your title.

I have had to master APA the last two semesters and once you begin to use, it is much easier to write papers and even if your instructor does not require it, it is great practice and graduate schools will require that you have it mastered.

1 inch margins, 1 space after a period, 12 font, times new roman, each paragraph starts with a 1/2 inch indent. New page (ctrl break) for the reference list, and they are on the left margin for the first line and a 1/2 inch indent for the next line. Highlight all references and use the triangles on the ruler bar to adjust the margins for them.

Alternatively, you can search for APA Paper Template, and download one. Word may even have some.

I had to buy the stinkin’ APA book, and only used it for one class. But woe to the student who didnt follow APA style to the NTH degree, including bibliography and internet citations! Good luck with that, I feel your pain.
