How do I know what to put on X axis and what to put on Y axis?
I have numbers for Period which are from 0.5 to 2 and numbers for lenght which are from 12 to 100. Which should I put on the x axis and the y axis?

I don’t know yet — “period” and “length” don’t give me any real idea of the relationship. Which one “causes” the other? In general, put the “cause” on the X-axis and the “effect” on the Y-axis. However, the graph is valid either way. Is one way easier to read than the other?
