Word 1. Soy …is( I )am , Example: Soy feliz ….I am happy

Word 2. Es … (she/ he / it ) is , Example: Ella es fea

Word 3. Eres…. (You) are , Example: Eres bueno, You are nice

Those are different forms of the verb SER.

Ser means “to be” in a permanent or characteristic way (be careful not to confuse it with the verb Estar).

Soy means “I am”. It is the “yo form”.

+ Yo soy…

Eres means “you are” (in an informal way). It is the “tú form”.

+ Tú eres…

Es means “he is”, “she is”, “it is”, or “you are” (in a formal way). It is the “‘él, ella, or Usted” form.

+ Él es… Ella es… Usted es…

It is VERY important to know all the forms of this verb when learning Spanish (these are just 3 of them). You’ll be using “ser” and “estar” a lot!

Yo soy I am

tu eres you are

el ella es he or she is

These would all be permanent fixtures like where they were born or if they are a boy or a girl. Otherwise you would use the verb estar……..estoy estas, esta, estamos, or estan depending.

Buena suerte

soy is used to say like ‘ yo soy ‘ which means ‘ I am’

‘es’ is used with el es ( he is), ella es (she is), usted es (you are-formal)

eres is informal and used with ‘tu’ –> ‘tu eres’ (you are)
