Help me with this physics problem? pLEASE.?

The image is 1.50 times the size of the actual stamps in front of the lens. Determine the focal length of the lens if the distance from the lens to the stamps is 2.60 cm.

If u is the distance of the object and v the distance of the image, the magnification m is given by:

m = v / u …(1)

and the focal length f by:

1/u + 1/v = 1/f …(2)

Putting m = -1.50 (negative as it will be a virtual image), and u = 2.60cm in (1) gives:

v = – 2.60 * 1.50 cm.

From (2)

1/f = 1/2.60 – 1/(2.60*1.50)

f = 1 /( 1/2.60 – 1/(2.60*1.50) )

= 7.8cm.
