help, chemistry question!?

if 1.00 km^3 of air has a mass of 1.200 billion kg what is the density in g/ml.

and also,

what volume will 9.38 x 10^-3 kg of mineral quartz occupy, given that its density is 2.65g/cm^3

please help and explain how you got it. i have a test tomorrow & i’m so confused. thanks in advance!

these are simple conversion problems.

the first one you calculate the density in km/kg then convert. or you can convert first then calculate. That might be easier.

you have to know the conversion factors though. km^3 to cm^3 is what you want because 1cm^3 = 1ml. remember that 1000 meters is one km and 100 cm is 1 m. then don’t forget to cube them.

converting kg to g is simply dividing by 1000.

Good luck.
