Grammar Question Help?
Ok I think I might know the answer, but I just want to make sure. This is an excerpt from the story, The Scarlet Ibis. “Of course [Doodle] wasn’t a crazy crazy like old Miss Leedie, who was in love with President Wilson…but was a nice crazy, like someone you meet in your dreams.”
Is this a simile, metaphor, personification, or characterization? Thank you in advance.

I agree: characterization using a simile. The simile part is “like someone you meet in your dreams”.
It’s not a metaphor b/c it has the word like in it. Not personification: you’re not giving human traits to a non human object or animal.
