Given the x-intercepts of a parabola, how do you find the vertex and the equation?

x-intercepts: (-2,0) and (6,0).

The x-value of the vertex would be (-2+6)/2 = 4/2 = 2

You can’t find the y-value without more information.

a number of porabolas have those x-intercepts. you would need another point, the slope at a given point, or the placement of the focus to find the exact equasion.
