They like to see politics as having three corners. Either you are right wing (pro-administration) or left-wing (oppostion) or a fence sitter who stays in the middle(independent?). The left wing agenda is used to describe a position perceived as too radical and too antagonistic to the establishment. To be left- leaning does not necessarily mean that one is communist but since we see our society as democratic, the polar opposite of that concept is Communism. To repeat, left-wing generally suggests being radical, anti-establishment, or taking the exact opposite view from the powers-that-be. The rightist agenda on the other hand suggests blind loyalty, or rabid support towards the establishment.
