~*I think, the property that was illustrated by 17 * 6 = 6 * 17 is Commutative property which states that changing the order of the factors does not affect the product. 🙂

the equation you answered is correct, so if X is 9, just substitute the X with the number, such that:

3X-8=N

3(9)-8=N

27-8=N

19=N
