Checking a Factoring Prob?

Factor completely.

(x^2+6)^(7/2) + 2x(x^2+6)^(5/2) + x^2(x^2+6)^(3/2)

this is what I ended up with:

x^7 + 2x^6 + x^5 + x^2(6^1.5) + 2x(6^2.5) + 6^3.5

I think it could possibly be factored more but I’m not sure how. Thanks for any serious help.

There is a factor of (x^2+6) in each term, so

(x^2+6)(7/2 +2x*5/2 + x^2*3/2)

Now simplify the terms in the second bracket:

(x^2+6)(7/2 + 5x + 3x^2/2)

Pretty certain it won`t factorise any further.

Hope this helps, Twiggy

Yes, just had another look, and it does factorise further:

(x^2+6)(3x^2/2 + 5x + 7/2)

=(x^2 + 6)(3x/2 + 7/2)(x + 1)
