How do you find the length of your arms?

You see, I have a lab assignment for Earth Science and I do not know how long my arms are. Without the length of my arms, I cannot do this equation:

{ D / L = d / l }

D = Distance from the ruler I’m holding to the sedimentary rock

L = Length of the sedimentary rock

d = distance from my arm to the ruler

l = length of the sedimentary rock from a distance

Without knowing how long my arms are, I cannot complete this equation let alone my Earth Science Lab Assignment. Can anyone help me?

Can’t you measure your arms with the ruler that you are holding?

If not, how tall are you?

If you stretch your arms out, the distance from end to end is roughly your height. From the ruler to your eyes would be a bit less than half that length.
