can u please help me with this math problem?

distances between planets are measured in astronomical units(au).one au is the average distance between the center of the sun and the center of the earth , which scientific notation is roughly 9.3*10^7 miles.

Part a : the minimum possible distance between jupiter and earth is about 3.92au.write an expression to convert this distance from au to miles.

Part b evaluate the expression you wrote in part a to find the distance in miles in standard form.

just multiply 3.92 * 9.3*10^7

Part a:

or d = 3.92 * (9.3*10^7)

Part b:

d = 3.6456*10^8 miles

d = 364,560,000 miles

In order to convert from au to miles, you just need to look at your conversion factor. So for part a, all you’ll need to do is write 3.92au*(9.3*10^7miles)/1 au.

The unit au will cancel out, as you have “au” in the numerator and “au” in the denominator, so your expression is:

3.92 * (9.3*10^7miles)

(The 1 in the denominator cancelled out).

For part b, all you’ll need to do is punch the equation into a calculator (or solve it by hand if you feel so compelled).

Good luck!
