you need to get rid of the fractions by multiplying all of then by the lowest common denominator, which in this case is 25x

so you get 25x*3/5x + 25x*6/25 = 25x*3/5

simplifying that gives

15 + 6x =15x

next subtract 6x from both sides of the equation and you get

15 = 9x

divide both sides by 9 and you get

15/9 = x

or x= 5/3

first you need to find a common denominator which is 25

you have to multiply 3/5x(5) -6/25 (1)= 3/5(5)= 15/25x-6/25=15/25

then you make them into whole numbers. 100 is the denominator you want. 25 goes into 100 4 times. so now you multiply the top number times 4. 15(4) 6(4) 24 and 15(4)=60

60x-24=60. now add 24 to both sides to get rid of it.

60x-24+24=60+24= 60x=84

now reduce by lcd which is 12

60/12=84/12=

5x=7 which is the lowest set of whole numbers you can get

now dvide both sides by 5

5x/5=7/5=

x=1.4 and now you plug it into the original formula to check

3/5 (1.4)- 6/25= 3/5

84-24=60 which is true

First you have to find the common denominator, so the C.D would be 25.

3/5x[which is 5]=15/25

15/25-6/25=9/25

reduce:

3/5!

first make 3/5 = x

so you multiply that by its reciprical on both sides giving you

x -6/25=1

then add 6/25 to 1

x=1 6/25
