can someone help me with sig figs?
im in algebra 1 or integrated algebra and can someone teach me easy ways to remember sig figs (significant digits) and precise and accuracy??? i have a quiz tommorow and i want to pass so pleease help and make it good!! thankss

wow, you’re doing sig figs in algebra? im learning it for the first time this year in chemistry. I can give you the 4 rules my teacher gave us..and hope it helps..
1) 0’s in the middle of 2 significant digits ARE sig figs.
EX: 1005 – there are 4 sig figs.
2) 0’s at the end of a number BEFORE the decimal ARE NOT sig figs (unless the number after the decimal is not zero)
EX: 100 – there is 1 sig fig
3) 0’s after the decimal an before a number ARE NOT sig figs
EX: 0.00045 – there are 2 sig figs
4) 0’s after the decimal and at the end of the number are sig figs.
EX. 0.00421700 0 there are 6 sig figs.
