Let’s see:

The Kievan Rus leader, Vladimir, visited Muslims, Christians and Jews in worship. With the Christians, Vladimir witnessed both Catholic and Orthodox worship. Vladimir told one of the Byzantine envoys that he felt like he was in heaven when he stepped into the Haghia Sophia Cathedral. In the year 988, Vladimir and many thousands were baptized in the Dneiper River. When Vladimir died, he became a Saint and was called “Equal to the Apostles” In 1988, Russia celebrated one millennium of Orthodoxy and the Russian Orthodox constitute over 50% of today’s Orthodox adherents.
