I can give you some tips on how
to these types of eqns
you see that each is written
with respect to “t”
so solve each eqn for “t”
you end up with
t=stuff with x in it
x+1=2t (now divide each side by 2)
and
t=stuff with y in it
since both of these eqns
are equal to “t” they are
equal to each other
stuff with x in it=stuff with y in it
then solve for y, that is, end up with
y=stuff with x in it
it will probably be a fraction
here is a hint
x=(-2y+9)/5
to check for restrictions
t=(x+1)/2
since t>=0, then
(x+1)/2>=0
multiply each side by 2
x+1>=0
subtract 1 from each side
x>=-1
is your restriction for x
