Without knowing a bit more about your specific topic, it might be tricky, the there are some good starting points.

As the one answer pointed out, the UN FAO is good.

You might also consider the US Dept. of Agriculture site at http://www.usda.gov. They also have an education and outreach section at:

http://www.usda.gov/wps/portal/!ut/p/_s.7_0_A/7_0_1OB?navtype=SU&navid=EDUCATION_OUTREACH

Most states also have a Dept. of Agriculture site. For example, Illinois has one at: http://www.agr.state.il.us/

For more technical topics, you might want to look at the Agricultural Networking Information Center:

http://www.agnic.org/browse

Two excellent librarian-run sites give a wide range of resources:

–The Internet Public Library:

http://www.ipl.org/div/subject/browse/sci01.00.00/

–“Agriculture” results from the Librarians’ Internet Index (lii.org):

http://search.lii.org/index.jsp?tn=1title,description,publisher,creator,allTags,keywords,extra_words,searchableid&tv=agriculture&ss=1

Good luck with this!
