AP World History?

I am a sophmore and I am taking AP world history with all my other classes in honors. I need to find a more efficient way to study and a more efficient way to read and comprehend the book. If anyone can help me out I will greatly appreciate it.

I took a pretty heavy schedule in HS, college, and grad school, plus worked full time. I never read all of the assignments. I skimmed everything I was asked to read and took excellent notes on both the book and from the letures. There are dozens of effective note taking strategies – you just have to find one that works well for you. When everyone else was up pulling all nighters I would read through my notes a few times and I’d be all set.

That said, one of the most important things for you to figure out about yourself RIGHT NOW is what type of learner you are. A method that works well for me, or your best friend might not work for you. Some people are visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learners and there are good reading and reviewing strategies for all of them. My personal learning style is such that when I write something it really sticks for me. If I just read it or hear it, I forget it. I know I have to write it down – even if it’s just a few scribbly notes.

Good luck to you!
