Algebra 2 question??
Salina earned more than Tyler selling newspaper subscriptions. At the end of the day, Salina was given $1 as the slaes bonus and Tyler spent $3 on snacks. When they returned home, they had a total of $12. How much money did Tyler earn selling newspaper subscriptions?
I am confused. Can you please show me how to do this problem or at least give me the equation to start off with, I can slove grom there.

S=salina T=Tyler
Total 12
So you have Salina with an extra $1
So s+1
Tyler spent 3
So t-3
add together because you know both earnings equal 12
s+1+t-3=12
simplify
s+t-2=12
add 2 to each side
s+t=14
Now from here you can solve….
1. If they were equal, then they would each have 7, but it explains that Tyler spent 3…So Tyler would then have 4 and Salina (because of the extra1) should have 8…
To check this 8+4=12
