This is a week set aside to honor those who work for peace all over the world, and to remember those who have given their lives so we may live free.

many countries have this event at different times of the year, they have activities like peace walks, assemblies, concerts, awards dinners, essay contests, and so on.

Although things may often seem like they are falling apart around us, it is nice to focus on those people, and the many things they are doing that do make a difference for the good of all.

There truly are many good things happening all over the world every day, but we do not hear about it in the daily news, and this is why so often we have a bleak picture of the world, and do not realize how much positive work is being done day by day by many; that’s why it is important; to encourage others to act, and give them hope that whatever they can contribute no matter how little it is, it does make a difference.

Because it allows us to get on with ‘business as usual’ for the other 51 weeks of the year.
