In my school you don’t get left back at all. No matter how many classes you fail you always go on to the next grade but you lose a credit for every class you fail, and there’s a required amount of credits you need in order to graduate. So.. Say you fail all of your freshman classes, every one of them throughout the whole year, you still DO go on to your sophomore year yes, but you need to make up all of those classes you failed during your freshman year in either summer school or night school or both. If you don’t make up those classes and credits before your 12th grade graduation THEN that is when you will end up getting left back because you don’t meet the amount of credits to graduate. You’ll have to repeat 12th grade as many times as it takes you to gather all of the reuiqred credits to gradutae.

According to most new school regulations, there is currently a “No child left behind” rule and what this means is more and more young people are graduating from High School without the ability to read and write and its a scary thought to think these are the ones who will be running our country. If I were you, I check into some information about taking the GED. Because apparently, you are not interested in school.

and yes, I do remember what it was like when I was 16. Been there done that and yes, I took the GED in 1967 and was thrilled that I didn’t have to go back to school.

A lot of people have already answered this the last time you asked it.

Different High School are run differently, but if you fail six classes that means you failed pretty much the whole year, so YES you will most likely need to repeat it.

BTW Maybe you should try homeschooling, then you might actually be able to learn something instead of flunking out.

Of course you will fail. If your high school gives you 6 classes to attend everyday and you do not pass any they can not give you credit for those classes. You will need a certain amount of credits to move onto the next year.

Yes. In high school especially, your grade level depends on the number of credits you have. If you don’t have the appropriate number of credits, you have to make them up before you can advance to the next grade level.

Yeah. In order to be in the next grade you have to have a certain number of credits. You usually don’t have to pass all classes but you will be failed.

yes. Most highschools have a minimum requirement for advancing and it is usually six credit hours, four core, two electives. If you are short, even a half credit, your status will not change until you have the minimum requirement met.

If you are talking about yourself, or even a friend, you, or your friend needs to be the first in line to talk to the academic counselor when school opens.

Oh, btw, that is not a homeschool question, but I do work with families in transitions, so I happen to know the answer.

if you are being homeschooled, then it would most likely go through the state board of education or whatever, there is usually a website about it.
