Many factors go in the determination of your EFC: your income (and your parents’ if you are considered a Dependent student), household size and of those how many are in college, asset information, any government subsidies received (i.e. food stamps), etc.
If you fill out the FAFSA on line it shouldn’t take that long for your information to be processed and sent to your school – about a 48 hour turn around time on average (maybe longer depending how often your school downloads the information: daily, every few days, weekly?).
Talk to a financial aid officer at your school for more information. Good luck!
