Once you turn 18, your social security benefits will cease. Your college benefits (I’m assuming your parent was killed or disabled while in active duty) pay approximately $800 per month for full-time students. It is paid directly to you but you do need to let financial aid know you are expecting the benefits. This benefit may reduce the amount of loan for which you are eligible. Be sure to check with financial aid and the VA about how to activate the benefit.
