Is resigning from the university for mental health reasons with a doctors excuse considered valid?
Favorite Answer
I too have a mental health issue, off & on over last 20 yrs. I live with depression , have held down full time jobs, supported my wife and family. I am lucky as my family and one good friend have supported me thru various episodes
In my opinion tell the uni to go scr*w themselves. Here in NZ you cannot discrimate against someone with a disability and mental health issues are a disability and in fact a physical illness
Go to doctor or hospital and get sorted, untill you are back on a level playing field you will have great difficulty in dealing with your study issues
It does get better, But It Takes Time and the Proper Support
Hang in There
You and I are people who have a problem, have admitted it and are working on sorting it out. Those who critisize us are quite often people who have similar problems But Refuse To Admit It
I have an idea of what you are going thru, dont give up(I know thats not easy) and Get The Help YOU need
