you can forgive but it doesn’t mean you forget

personally i am surprised you got any letter at all much less an apology, the federal government never does that

Sophie – why did you let them take 6 years to get back to you – did you badger them often? At the end of the day I would accept their apology – because it’s now gone from their minds, so the only person it’s still upsetting is you, let it go and you will feel better – what is it your Americans call it – closure?

6 Years !!!!

Now that’s a long time but then again I’m sure you’re lucky they even decided to respond back to you at all especially with an apology.

Well now, you’ve only got two options right, accept the apology or don’t accept it. Either I’m sure they don’t care since I’m pretty certain that if you don’t accept it they won’t be sending you more letters saying they’re sorry trying to get you to accept it.

You’d might as well. this is the gov’t your’e talking about… As big as they are, You’d be a bigger person if you accept their apology rather than carrying around all the bitterness. Bitterness will/can “eat you alive’… don’t let that happen to you because the govt lost your letter….

Call your congressman! With any luck, especially if you are registered with his (her) party, you may be quite surprised by the response. Even if you are completely in the wrong, you are entitled to a quicker response.
