First you need to be an “ENROLLED MEMBER OF A “FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED” TRIBE.
State or other does not qualify.
Second you better pray they DO have “higher education” funds. MY tribe only had $500 to offer me.
Third, there is no FREE COLLEGE.
In fact there is no FREE anything. Any funding we get is for RESOURCES that are taken off Reservation lands, ie Timber, Coal, Water, Natural Gas etc. The shitty part is, they don’t even pay us fair market value for these things.

I am not sure of the percentage, but I remember something about being at least 25%?
Whatever the case, you must be able to prove your heritage. Without proper documentation/identification, you will not get the scholarship.

Basically, you have to be an enrolled member of one of the Indian nations. Each has it’s own requirements as to what blood quanta qualifies you for membership.
