Financial aid consists of grants, subsidized student loans and work study. Fill out a FAFSA after Jan. 1 of your senior year. Colleges also offer scholarships and grants. Check with the colleges you’re interested in directly.

I would recommend going to your guidance counselor and getting the appropriate materials. There may be different types of financial aid depending upon what part of the country you are in. Also, be sure to meet with the financial aid counselors at the colleges or universities you are interested. You will be surprised at the amount of scholarships and grants you can receive.

Financial aid is any assistance you get to help you pay for your college education. It can consist of grants, loans, scholarhips and can come from many many different sources. To apply for federal financial assistance go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and apply there. I have attached a Department of Education book for more specific information about the grants, loans and stuff.

Good Luck.

Financial aid is monetary assistance in paying for your education- it can be used to cover tuition, books, and living expenses, etc. It includes what Dee said, but also scholarships, which can come from oodles of different sources. The first step is the FAFSA.
