Please Help me with this!?

ok, so i’m signing up for classes at a 2 year college.

I registerd 4 classes already. all together 16 units.

i wanted to *** another 3 unit class that i must take, comes up to 19 units, but when trying to sign on (online) the last class it says I can not because this will exceed the maximum units allowed this semester. Im sure many students take 5 classes a semester. why wont it let me?? since when is 16 units the max??

Make sure that none of the courses that you are already registered are four credits, if they all are indeed 3 credits then perhaps they have changed the maximum limit. You can contact either the registrar or the provost (that’s who I have to contact) and they can override the limit.

One thing to look at is have you registered for the limit before and never completed the whole load? If so, some times that will decrease the limit you are able to register for.

The maximum of 16 units per semester/quarter is just a limit imposed upon all the students. I am sure if you see your counselor and prove you can take more classes, he or she could let you take more classes. But becareful taking so many units, 4 B’s ares much better than 5 C’s so don’t push yourself too much.

Most likely in your student guide it tells the maximum number of credits per semester. You will need to drop another class if you want the “must take” class this semester. Unless you have an amazing GPA, there are no options. If you have an amazingly high GPA, it might be possible to get permission from the school to add the extra course.

Remember the maximum is 16 credits.

Even if they take 5 classes and do not exceed 16 credits they can still do that. Say u take 4 classes and if it exceeds 16 credits, you cannot do that.

maybe it’s best if you just focus on those units, as it’s better to have quality grades rather then quantity.

I’d have rather got 9 GCSEs then 13 GCSEs that weren’t as good.
