Federal grants are real — but many people do not understand how grants work and there are a lot of misconceptions floating around. These misconceptions — e.g. the government gives money for any purpose you can think of — are what fuels the scammers to lure the gullible (and yes there are many gullibles out there)

You may also want to read the warnings FTC has issued against these “grant” companies:

http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2004/03/grantresources.htm

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt134.htm

Here is also one of the warnings issued by the Better Business Bureau http://www.concord.bbb.org/tips_timesharescams.html

You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov – these are two FREE sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support your purposes.

Even if you buy books on “how to get grants” or list that supposedly has information on grants — all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently.

BE AWARE: All of these “gov loans” “free grants” etc. ARE real Gov programs. THEY ARE FREE ALSO!.. when you buy one of these programs from an independent publisher.. you are paying for their research. all the info they are going to tell you is listed on a public website somewhere but the people giving you the info has already done the research to find all of these place’s.

If they say that you can only get this info from them.. its a scam. the Gov does have programs in place for all kinds of grants and loans, but they DO NOT make it easy to find out how to apply for such loans. Like I said.. these people (gov auction sales people) have already done their research and ARE JUST PASSING ON INFO THAT IS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC, FOR FREE. ( if you want the info for free, you just have to search for it.)

Basically..

ALL the info is free.. (where to get the loans, grants, etc.)

if you don’t have time to do the research your self… then buy a program.

All you are buying is the info that is free to the public, but the people selling the info has narrowed down the possibilities for you.

NEVER pay someone to apply for these grants, loans, etc in your behalf.

they can take your money and claim they applied BUT DIDN’T

You have to be very careful when messing around with those Kinda things.. If your not sure.. DON’T DO IT!

Federal grants are real. You shouldn’t have to pay to get information on them. Check the website for the school you are planning on attending and it will list what grants are available.

one hundred% rip-off. a million) the government does no longer supply out provides for those motives. 2) in the event that they did, they does no longer charge a cost. 3) the government does no longer use Western Union. Western Union money at the instant are not reversible. as quickly as you deliver the money, it is long previous.
