Its all about money, that and they want students who will only make the professors look good. So; they only hand pick from the top, not the middle and never near the bottom. Its not about teaching anymore, just perception. After all; how would it look, a collage not measurring up to the passing grade. Then of course; you have college’s who make deals with the Gov’t to swindle people out of their unimployment money, by creating so called job training and re- training programs. which is designed to fail students from the word go. Hence; Gov’t immediately cuts all funding to the unimployed person and splits the differance with the college.the only one’s who benifit from such programs are the Gov’t because now their not paying out the money to the unimployed person, and the college is, because now their making a tidy profit from the Gov’t at the expense of the unimployed…job creation programs in ont canada at best is just a farse and nothing more.. sorry about going off topic..your best bet is to get in the face of some of the professors in a nice way as so they will remember you sometimes it helps to get respected students or alumna or alumnus to speak on your behalf also helps….Hope this helps…

I’m AMAZED seeing how colleges are screaming for women and minority candidates! Are you hitting up the liberal schools like Brown??? If it’s your grades maybe you need to do community college that has an auto transfer program with a four year college. Bristol community College in Mass, where I went has a policy where student’s who graduate can automatically get into Roger Williams University and Amherst if they choose to go there. There have to be community colleges near you that do this. peace!

PS: I just thought of this but if your illegal or from a country on the watch list this WOULD possibly be a problem.

You would have to elaborate about what exactly is causing you difficulty so we can help.

What college are you trying to go to? What is your chosen specialty?

Community College is your first option. This should be no problem for most high school grads. It’s cheap and you only have to maintain a decent GPA.

If you are trying to get into state college, the bar is a bit higher. You’ll have to have a good high scholl GPA and good SAT scores and you’ll be competing for a fewer seats, but if you qualify, you’ll probably get in. The price is still very reasonable.

Then there’s private college and that’s the toughest. You’ll have to have high SAT and GPA and money and influence in some cases.

Certain colleges want the best of the best. I did not get accepted into the college of my choice. I ended up taking courses at a community college before going to a four year. I did get accepted into a few 4 year colleges, but not the ones I wanted to attend.

If you applying only to ivy league and very prestigious schools, yes it is. It is supposed to be hard.

Instead of waiting, try the community college and state colleges near you. You do not want to delay college. If you get a 4.0 GPA at a smaller school, it will still help you transfer into a better school.

Good luck.

Because there’s hundreds of thousands of people trying to get into the same colleges at the same time and the way it’s going now a days, unless you’re a super genius, a minority, and have a disability, it’s quite hard to get into any college with any degree of quality standards.

Go to a junior college in a small town, they are easy to get into if your have the money for tuition and books. Our junior college in Coeurdalene Idaho, even has a four year program connected to a major state college that gives you credit for the major one, but you attend classes here.

get a scholarship online for 10 bucks now pick your college and mail in the application. Tell them too your a star football player even if a girl and you really get in then.

honestly I have a brother that went to college until he was 28 ,10 years, to study forestry. he kept flunking on purpose, or was changing his major, because he loved to party and meet girls on campus. he was smart.

I agree it is getting harder and harder, the best thing I can tell you to do is to go to a community college and get into their transfer program and take a few courses then transfer. It is cheaper and some schools even have guaranteed admissions for transfer students. Good luck!

You need to find the right college. Try seeing the school for a visitation. Then apply. Or else go to a vocational school. or community college. they take anyone that lives in the community. lower your standard
