FAFSA part time to full time?

I filled out a FAFSA and put that i would be a part time student, but i am only going to be considered a part time student until winter, after that i will do full time. I called my financial aid office at my college and they said to go ahead and put full time anyway. But i have read at several places that they take out big deductions if you put full time and are only part time? I will need the money for winter and summer, but just not for fall. Im not too sure what to do. Any advice?

Go ahead and put down full time. In our office we award students based on full time no matter what the FAFSA says, because students can always change their minds about going full time or part time. If your financial aid office told you to go ahead and to put down full time, then follow their advice. Good luck!

in case you drop all the way down to 9 credit – that’s seen 3/4 time – your college will alter the quantity of help dispersed to you. you do no longer ought to redo something on the FAFSA. occasion: You qualified for the max in FAFSA – 5550. A ft scholar at in a semester college could acquire 2725. Taking 9 credit could drop that to approx 2082 for the semester.

You won’t be penalized by putting down FT. Once you’re enrolled in your classes, your aid will be determined and disbursed based on your enrollment status (full-time or part-time). Good luck!

I had this same problem, and it automatically will change for you depending on how many hours you take. Your financial aid office will regulate it for you.
