High school in US?

Hi. I’m from Bucharest, Romania, and I’m in 11th grade on a high school from Bucharest. And want to know if there are opportunities to continue the 12th grade in United States. I want to study with all my heart in the US, my love country. I’m interested in Financial Aid because I don’t have money.

Thank you!

Contact your school counselor, I am sure that there are programs for “Foreign Exchange Students”. See if you qualify. If you can get into the Foreign Exchange program, you will be set up with a “host” family, they will let you stay in there home and see that you are cared for and stay in school.

They will be your legal guardians while you are here in the United States. If your school counselors do not have this program, maybe you can contact your government officials, they may be able to tell you where to start. Most schools start here in the U.S, very soon, so try not to waste any time finding out. Best of luck!!!

Yes, wherever you move to, there will be a high school. Public high schools don’t cost a thing. Totally free. But if you want to go to a private high school, those will cost money. I’m pretty sure you can get scholarships. If I were you and money was an issue, I’d go to a public school and look for a program like Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) that will help you prepare for college and are a little more challenging than the normal high school course load. Hope this helps!

search on the internet for foreign exchange programs. there are many of these programs. their goal is to connect people that otherwise would not connect and share culture. these allow you to live with a family in the us, often with a person of similar age, and attend the local school. some require that a us student come and stay with your family, but i know there are some that dont. financial aid is often available, mostly for travel.

there were some german exchange students at my school and that’s what they did. it allowed them to study here without moving permanently so they could decide if they did want to move. after 12th grade you could then apply to a us college if you wanted to. you would then have to get an apartment or stay in the dorms.

The 12 th grade is basically free here so you don’t need finanacial aid to attend a public school. At age 15.5 you are allowed to work in the US. I think you have to be 17 to work in factories. There are also a limited number of hours you can work per week if you are under 18 and still in high school. Good Luck.

Public school is free for grades Kindergarten to 12th Grade. College is expensive though. There are opportunities all over America to go for free to school for a year.

You can go to any school here in the US. I think the best state would be CA because the education is very high and the students are very smart here. E-mail me if u have any questions about this. Thank you. Have a good day.

Hey, I’m from Romania as well… I really don’t think it’s quite affordable, if you can’t get there, and don’t have money to find a place to live and then a job to make more money… It’s really hard, I would love to finish my school as well in Us or UK… but my parents don’t like that.
