– White race population decreased by 46.15% and American Indians increased by 192.45%

– In 1990 the black race was 58.16% of the population and in 2000 the percentage increased to 75%

– Median household income has declined in tract 923 only.

– A decline in Spanish speaking individuals and an increase in Asian or Pacific Island speaking families.

41/42

1990 and 2000 Census Data Narrative Report

Implication:

The 15.54% decline in the children under the age of 5 years implies a decline in the fertility rate and this may result into a decline in the population size in future, despite this decline American Indians have indicated a high increase in fertility rate and therefore the population size of American Indians is expected to increase significantly in future. female households data show a 14% increase and this may mean that there has been an increase in divorce rate or women prefer to have a single parent family.

Conclusion:

The above analysis provide an insight into the changes that occurred in the population composition in the year 1990 to 2000, there was a 15.54% decline in the number of children below 5 years in all the three tracts, with reference to race it is evident that the White race population declined by 46.15% and American Indians increased by 192.45%, it is also evident that in 1990 the black race was 58.16% of the population and in 2000 the percentage increased to 75%. In the 2010 census therefore we expect that the population size will increase slightly and there will be an increase in the number of households.
