when you say ” Are you the girl with a baby?” and ” Are you the girl with THE baby?”.what is the difference?

‘The’ highlights its following word. In the first sentence the girl is highlighted and specified.

In the second it is the baby that is emphasised.

the first one is general the second one wants to specify a girl – the one with the special “the” baby

“Are you the girl with THE baby” is asking if the girl has ONE PARTICULAR baby.

“a” is the indefinite article (along with “an”) and “the” is the definite article, but in the course of a conversation, both sentences would mean pretty much the same thing.
