The word is properly spelled ‘epiphany’ … try looking up that spelling. An ‘epiphany’ is when you ‘realize something extremely important’ … and this ‘relates’ to the story in the Bible where Christ went to the ‘mountains’ with a few of his Apostles and they all ‘saw Christ’ with Moses, Elijah, and Abraham … which ‘told them’ that Jesus was ‘more than just a traveling religious teacher’ but was ‘the Son of God.’ That was an Epiphany. In the ‘Catholic’ and Episcopal Church ‘year,’ Epiphany is always celebrated on January 6 … which is the day that Jesus led this ‘expedition to the mountain’ and is ALSO the ‘Feast of the Magi’ … the ‘three kings’ who came to ‘celebrate’ the birth of Jesus and give him the ‘three gifts’ of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

An epiphany is a sudden insight or inspiration. When Saul was traveling to Tarshish he was blinded by a light and heard the voice of God. He had an epiphany and stopped perseucting the Jews turned Christian.

The correct spelling may help; ‘epiphany’.

It’s from the Greek words epi – over & phanos – light.

It means ‘shining-out’ like a beacon in the dark.

The church season of Epiphany come after Christmas.

It was when the wise men followed the star to find Jesus.

Or in other words, when jesus was revealed to the world.

It’s the exact moment that something has been revealed to you… for example : I had an epiphany when I realized how to construct a bridge.

You’ve misspelled epiphany. See if that solves your dictionary problem.

An epiphany is an appearance of, especially, God, but also of other superhuman entities.
