A women who is iconic is one who is looked up to as an idol and well modelled person for others to base their “gaze” upon and follow in the persons footsteps. These women are usually given this title because of what they do – Princess Diana was iconic for what she did with Africa and how she helped various charities.

Another is Madonna – well groomed, pretty and a reasonably good singer – most girls from the eighties and nineties would have prefered to have been in her shoes then and some do now, she is rich, sexy and, some would say, intelligent.

More well known women are the Nobel Peace Prize winners; particularly in war torn republics and feuding countries – they provided an empiral solution to solve a feud with either very complex or simple solutions.

They are the women that have power and intelligence rolled into one – they are inspiring for other potential women of the future.

Once she is crowned an iconic women (and they can come from any background e.g. the Arts to business) they are idols and are given the eponymous title of an Iconic Woman.

From there on they have a title similar to that of “Sir” or “Dame” except later on they may be given this by the Queen herself; usually “Dame”.
