The flagship of the University of Hawaii system is at the Manoa campus. It’s a full research level nationally recognized institution, and in fact it’s the ONLY research level university campus in the entire state with programs in just about every major out there at both the undergrad and graduate levels. Manoa is located in Honolulu Hawaii on the island of Oahu.

Hawaii Pacific University on the island of Oahu. It is a private institution with small class sizes and a very professional faculty. The two respondents above me mentioned the University of Hawaii. That school has been ranked as one of the lowest public universities in the entire country for years. Class sizes are 3 times the size of HPU, buildings are run-down, and the UH-Manoa campus has had a recent crime-wave including multiple burglaries and an attempted sex-assault.
