What is the meaning of the word “bedman/bedmen”?
I am trying to translate a poem by Edward Thomas (“A private”); the line goes something like “the staid drinkers and good bedmen were all bores”

There is no such word in any dictionary. may be a spelling mistake.

I just read the poem myself. I think Thomas means these “good bedmen” are people who habitually sleep in bed rather than outside like the ploughman. They are very conventional, in other words.
