What is the definition of a pampas *ss?
I Googled at least 5 pages to no avail. Looked in all my on line dictionary’s, etc etc. I give up & am asking the polite folks of the Y! answers community for help. Thank You

You can’t find it because you’re spelling it wrong. Look for “pompous,” pronounced pahm’-puhs. It means arrogant or self-important.

I think you’re referring to pampas GRASS. It’s a very large ornamental grass, used in landscaping. I’ve included a link to a good picture, below; you’ve probably seen it before, as it’s very commonly used.
If you mean a “pompous @ss,” then that’s an arrogant person who’s very unpleasant to be around!

That is just a term from the vernacular. It just means a stuck up know-it-all.

It means an arrogant prick. some1 who looks down their nose at ppl and thinks they are right every time 100% of the time.
