What is that word that means a personal attack during an arguement?

I want to say “bildengsroman” or something like that and it means you attack the person with a “you’re stupid” during an argument. Thanks!

Ad hominem. It’s Latin for “to the man.” As in you’re attacking your opponent rather than their argument.
