What are these Dota terms/Words?

Mek and rush and euls, I read those words in a guide on the internet, it was a guide about items and what to buy for the hero I normally use. ” After that, your goal is to finish Mek and rush for euls as soon as possible.” To be specific the hERO was Jakiro the twin headed dragon

mek stands for mekansm – this item can give you the capability to heal yourself and allies nearby.

euls stands for euls scepter of divinity which gives you the ability to produce a cyclone that can disable (in this case send your enemy flying) your enemy for 6 or so seconds.

New to DotA? Just be prepared for tons of bad games. The general Singaporean DotA community is really the worst I’ve seen in any online video game.

If they lose, they’ll thrash talk you. If they win, they’ll still thrash talk you. If your team-mate leaves, they’ll insult you. If the host lags, they’ll start thrash-talking everyone. Anyhows:

1. Mekansm (Approx. 250 Area of Effect Healing + Armour increase aura).

2. Eul’s Scepter of Divinity (Intelligence increase, mana pool and regeneration increase, and 7 charges of Cyclone (a 3-4 second disabling skill against a single target)).

I disagree though. This is my recommendation for Jakiro. (First for solo/public games, second for team/arranged drafts.)

Solo:

At start, get either a transport critter or Ring of Basillus (65% mana regen). (If you’re confident of your farming abilities, get a critter.)

Later on, get a Ring of Health (4 HP/sec) and Void stone (100% mana regen), creating a Perseverance. This will increase your lane stay and lane control ability.

Boots of Speed next. Every hero should get this early on. *(Except maybe a mine laying Techies.)

*Up until here, everything is interchangeable, meaning it doesn’t really matter which you get first.

If you’re farming well, get a Dagger of Escape (a REALLY good item for just about any hero, except those who already have the Blink ability). This allows you to launch surprise nukes against an enemy or escape from danger.

Convert the Boots of Speed into a Boots of Travel to further increase your farming ability (with the teleport skill) if you want.

At this point it should be turning late-game, if not already. Get anything you want, really. If you need to tank more, an Eye of Skadi, otherwise, a Scythe of Vyse (for the voodoo disable and damge increase), or turn the Perseverance into Linken’s Sphere (semi-tanking item + first spell evasion).

You don’t really need a large mana pool for farming. Mana regen is better. Also, Jakiro isn’t really a hero killer (though he can be during early game) so his survivability has higher priority. He’s a support chaser and semi-tank.

Team-centric drafts:

At the start, get Tangos and Mana potions (about 8-10 and 3-4 respectively.) if you’re soloing the lane.

If you have a partner, one of you should get a Headdress of Rejuvenation (2 HP/sec regen) and the other, a Ring of Basillus (65% mana regen).

Get a Boots of Speed as usual.

If you are tasked to be the 1 or 2 in the team getting a Mekansm, get it up ASAP. (Also, you should be the one getting the Headdress earlier, since it’s a component of the Mekansm.)

After Mekansm, get ANOTHER Headdress. (Because the auras stack, granting the team +5 HP/sec regen. Great for sustaining tower pushes.)

In team-centric games, always get small (or cheaper) items.

The Dagger of Escape is very situational. If you want to buy that, make sure your team can compensate by having them get smaller/cheaper items. (Usually though, each team will have an appointed farmer. It’s never the Jakiro, so try to get smaller items.)

Otherwise, get Bracers and be the tank for your team.

If for some reason, the the match drags into late-game, you will probably need to get a Scythe of Vyse for the Voodoo spell (if you have another person on the team with high Damage Output per Second, usually called DPS).

Otherwise, Eye of Skadi is the way to go.

Anyway, in team-centric games, proper skill usage and map-reading abilities are infinitely more important than items obtained.

Some people like to get an Arcane Ring (increase mana pool + 135 mana restore (Active, meaning it’s cast once and wait for cooldown)). I don’t like it. It’s usefulness is very short-lived and I usually end up selling it by mid-game because the amount of mana I use is almost always much more than it can sustain.

Phew. Bored at work. XD
