why is “bacn” spelt “bacn: rather than “bacon” if it is pronounced bacon? wouldn’t people catch on better?

“bacn” is apparently a new term for emails that are not “spam”, in that you want to keep them, but you don’t want to be interrupted by them. It is obviously a play on the concept of spam. But when I first read about it I just didn’t get that it was supposed to be pronounced “bacon”. So why isn’t it just spelt “bacon”?

maybe the letters are an acronym for something?

There are lots of web words that people don’t use the full spelling for. My sister once claimed that sooner or later we will get to the point that we use no vowels in our words. I told her that was ridiculous because them you couldn’t sing “Old MacDonald had a Farm.”(e-i-e-i-o) LOL!

Bacon or bacn, why would people be e-mailing about it? There must be some arcane meaning to it – one that I have no desire to understand.
