Mr.question

Please paraphrase my text.?

Please read the following passage and paraphrase the part I have put in brackets, since I can not comprehend it clearly.

..but they are world class players anyway. Ronaldo is in that bracket now. He runs with the ball, too much the individualist and, worst of all, (went far too readily to ground.)

What do they mean by (went far too readily to ground) ?

And do I got it right from this sentence (too much the individualist), which they mean he seldom likes to pass the ball to others and instead runs the ball alone. ?

Soccer players like to take ‘dives’ in order to get a free kick or penalty kick.

“Went far too readily to ground” means he was too fond of taking dives, or fell to the ground with only slight contact from an opposing player.

Your interpretation of ‘too much the individualist’ is correct. He likes to do too much on his own instead of passing the ball to his team mates.

“Went far too readily to ground” means he often chose to fall down.

“Too much the individualist” means that he is not a “team player”. He likes to keep all the attention on himself and so will keep the ball when he really should pass it.

I understand it to mean that he doesn’t pass the ball enough and when he has a chance to kick it to the goal he doesn’t (far too readily to ground.)

However, I’m not a soccer (football) fanatic, so if someone has a clearer explanation I’ll readily accept it.

Judging from the context, I believe it means he can’t be persuaded to stop being a ball hog.
