It is the optional comma before the and at the end of a list in a sentence. ex: We sell books, videos, and magazines.

Also known as the Harvard comma or the serial comma. Its the comma the precedes the term prior to the conjunction when giving a list of items.
For example: “His sandwich had bacon, lettuce, and tomato.” uses the oxford comma whereas, “His sandwich had bacon, lettuce and tomato.” does not.
