To denote them (like on an elevator button) you use what you did – B1, B2, B3 . . .

Any floor below the 1st floor is usually talked about as a lower, or sub, level floor, or called a basement or cellar. It depends on if you’re talking about a commercial building or a private residence.

The 1st floor, 2nd floor, etc. is usually determined by where the main entry is located. If the main entry goes into what is structurally a lower level, that lower level is sometimes called the 1st floor.

It can really get confusing, especially if you’ve never been in a commercial building before & are trying to find your way around.

Who’s sarcastic?
Basement floors can also be called subbasements. As in basement, subbasement 1, subbasement 2, etc.

I agree with Australia, there. They’re called ‘storeys’.

B1 is the garage floor immediately below the lobby. B2 below it and so forth.

They are all lower levels/storeys than ground floor level. The lowest is the basement. The ones above are lower storeys (I’m Australian and we spell it this way) than ground floor level.
