Is i.g. means “for example”?

I can’t remember it exactly. It seems it’s like “i.g”, or whatever, means “for example”, especially in scholastic works?

It is “e.g.”, an abbreviation for the Latin phrase exempli gratia, “for the sake of example”.

It is NOT “i.e.”, which means “that is,” which is an abbreviation for the Latin phrase id est.

Nope, not ig, but ie. It means: Id Est

Directly translated, it means “It is” or “That is”.

As far as I know it’s “IE”…lol funnie thing about that is I’ve heard people say it in conversation..I thought it was just used in text.
